PRE-CLEANING
- Vacuum areas to be cleaned prior to the carpet cleaners arrival. (Carpet manufacturers mandate for warranty.)
- Remove little nick-knacks, valuables and breakable from the cleaning areas.
- We will call the number you provided to confirm you are ready for your cleaning. Please answer or return our call so the cleaner knows it is okay to head your way. Unless prior arrangements are made cleaners will not head out until contact is made.
WATER HOOKUP:::: Because this is a deep hot water extraction/ steam truck mounted cleaning, our carpet cleaning technician will need access to water (preferably a hookup outside the home). If this is not available please advise us prior to your appointment so that we may discuss other options.
HOSES:::: Hoses will run from the van into your home. Please let us know at time of scheduling if you live in an apartment complex or if the hoses have to run through common areas in your building. This is not permissible in some apartment complexes.
FURNITURE MOVING:::: Having furniture moved is slightly more expensive. At your request & under your supervision, the cleaner is only allowed to move furniture he can easily slide by himself. Those items must be cleared & emptied. He cannot move or disassemble beds or move furniture that is more than one piece i.e. dressers with mirrors attached, desk with hutches attached, etc. . Our technicians will not move or disconnect any electronics.
STAINS:::: Please make your cleaning technician aware of any areas that might need special attention. We can’t guarantee to remove all stains, but we do guarantee to do the best we can. Please go over those areas after he’s worked on them to be assured he has addressed them to your satisfaction and voice any concerns you might have at this time. If you have permanent stains patching may be an option. To learn more about carpet repair click here; CARPET INSTALLATION/REPAIR
REAPPEARING OR WICKING STAINS:::: A spot that reappears or appears larger after drying is referred to as wicking. Prior spillage or soiling deep within the carpet base and padding can surface as moisture rises to the surface during drying. Certain types of large volume spills or stains might require you to pull the carpet up, clean from the backside and remove or replace the padding.
FILTRATION SOILING:::: Dark lines along the edge of baseboards, vents, steps and under doors are called filtration soiling. These lines are commonly caused by the airflow in the home or building. Carpet cleaning wands go along side of the baseboards as closely as possible but not into those crevices. It takes a special product & special technique to diminish the appearance of filtration lines. This takes additional time and is an additional charge. If this is an issue please discuss this with the scheduler so we can go over your options and additional cost.
RIPPLES, WRINKLES, BUCKLES:::: Carpet that is abnormally loose or slack may show ripples, wrinkles or buckles after cleaning. Cleaning does not cause this, but may magnify this problem as we clean from the outside of each area toward the center. This is rare and usually goes away after a few days. Most carpets require re-stretching once or twice throughout its life span. For long lasting results our technicians only use power stretchers. If your carpet is in need of a good re-stretching click here; CARPET INSTALLATION/REPAIR
ODORS:::: Cleaning does not cause odors nor does it deodorize. Wool carpets have a distinct smell when wet which usually dissipates over time. If you have pets or if you have any odor concerns please mention this to your scheduler prior to your appointment so that they may go over your options.
DRYING:::: Our truck-mounted carpet vacuum systems removes most moisture but your carpets will be damp. Drying time varies. Typical drying time is 4-8 hours but can take as long as 48 hours depending on the carpet thickness, relative humidity, carpet overall condition, etc.. To speed the drying process, turn on fans and keep the air circulating in the home. Do not close your home up tight with wet carpet. It is particularly critical to keep air circulating in basements that are damp.
PRICING:::: Carpet cleaning is based on square footage, area &/or room sizes. Any price quotes given are based on your estimation of the square footage &/or room description &/or sizes given to the scheduler. Stair steps are priced as set &/or each. If applicable please discuss room package details with the scheduler as advertised during scheduling. No offers will be upheld without prior discussion of details and details noted on work-order. Prices are subject to onsite measurement.
POST CLEANING
- Please be present at completion to review your carpet cleaning and voice any concerns you might have regarding your cleaning.
- We highly recommend protectant be applied after cleaning. If you are interested in having protection applied please let your cleaner know.
- Be sure to leave the protective pads under furniture legs until the carpet and/or furniture is completely dry to avoid any color transfer. To learn more about upholstered furniture cleaning click here; UPHOLSTERY CLEANING
- To accelerate drying time, use fans in any rooms cleaned. Turning on your air conditioning system will also help accelerate drying time. This is especially critical in basement areas and on rainy days.
- You may walk on your carpet immediately after cleaning, but avoid wearing street shoes, as they may re-soil your carpet. Be especially careful when walking from damp, carpeted areas onto non-carpeted areas to avoid slipping.
